A serious listeria outbreak connected to ready-to-eat pasta products sold at Walmart and other major retailers has claimed 7 lives and left 27 people ill.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, the contaminated products were manufactured by Nate's Fine Foods and distributed to major grocery chains, including Walmart, Trader Joe's, Kroger, and Sprouts Farmers Market. The outbreak has resulted in six deaths and one tragic fetal loss, with two additional deaths and seven new illnesses reported in the latest update.

Listeria: A Serious Threat

Listeria monocytogenes is particularly dangerous for pregnant women, newborns, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms typically appear within two weeks of consuming contaminated food and may include fever, muscle aches, headache, confusion, and loss of balance.
