One of Nebraska's favorites is Carhenge, a replica of England's Stonehenge, made up of 39 automobiles arranged in a circle measuring about 96 feet. It's located just north of the town of Alliance.

It's been around since 1987, but now, after nearly 40 years, it's about to have some competition in neighboring South Dakota.

Firehenge is the brainchild of Bob Fuchs, co-owner of Firehouse Brewing Company in Rapid City. He plans to install a circle of 10-ton firetrucks and buried fire hydrants along Interstate 90, about 200 miles north of Carhenge. The attraction will include a gift shop, which will sell brewery souvenirs, canned beer, and wine.

Firehenge is tentatively scheduled to open in the summer of 2026.
