The Oreo cookie has been sold under a variety of different names over the years, but it all began on this day 113 years ago at a grocery store in Hoboken, New Jersey.

It was March 6, 1912 when the National Biscuit Company first introduced the 'Oreo Biscuit' and snacking in America was never the same.

In 1921, the cookie was renamed the 'Oreo Sandwich' before becoming the 'Oreo Crème Sandwich' in 1948 and finally 'Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookie' in 1974.

For decades you had one option to dunk in your milk, but lately the have been a mind numbing assortment of flavors.
