National Retail Chain Opens New Store in Minnesota
The trend for big national chains lately has not been good. Whether it's Joann Fabrics closing all of their stores nationwide or Advance Auto Parts shuttering 700 locations, it seems like 'less is more' is the current business model for the majority of the retail giants.
But one group is bucking that trend.
This week, Ross Stores says it has added 19 locations to its roster this month, including a new store in Minnesota.
The new 26,000 square foot Ross Dress For Less at Southridge Center Shopping Center in Inver Grove Heights opened its doors March 8th.
It's the second new store in the North Star state for the Dublin, California-based chain. The first ever Ross location opened in Rochester last July.
Overall, the chain has added stores in 14 different states in March and they aren't stopping there. The plans is for new 80 Ross locations over the course of fiscal year 2025.
In addition to the Inver Grove Heights and Rochester stores, Ross has three other Minnesota locations:
- East St. Paul
- Maplewood
- St. Cloud
Ross also has two South Dakota locations:
- Rapid City
- Sioux Falls
There are nine Ross stores in Iowa:
- Coralville
- Sioux City
- Davenport
- NW Des Moines
- Cedar Falls
- South Cedar Rapids
- South Des Moines
- West Des Moines
- Mason City
Last year, Ross opened 75 stores and generated nearly $21.13 billion in sales overall.
