Trans-Siberian Orchestra got its start in Tampa, Florida, in 1996 when producer, composer, and lyricist Paul O'Neill brought together Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli from the band Savatage, along with keyboardist and co-producer Robert Kinkel, to form the core of the TSO creative team.

After releasing two albums (1996's Christmas Eve & Other Stories and 1998's The Christmas Attic), the band began touring around the world, selling 10 million albums along the way.

Both Billboard Magazine and Pollstar ranked TSO as one of the Top 25 ticket-selling bands from 2000-2010.
