What’s Missing from the Sioux Falls Fast Food Scene?

When it comes to dining out in Sioux Falls, there are a staggering number of choices to suit just about everything our taste buds desire.

But even with all of those options available to us, there are still a few of the massive restaurant chains that have yet to come to South Dakota's largest city. Fan favorites like Cheesecake Factory, In-N-Out Burger, and Waffle House are always being thrown out there, but have yet to come to town.

Here are the ones the city does currently have:

So which of the country's top-earning chains is missing from the Sioux Falls food scene?

If you looked closely at the above list, you may have noticed we jumped past number six.

This chain was founded in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1950 and has grown to more than 9,600 locations in 43 states, earning a whopping $12 billion in sales last year.

It's Dunkin' Donuts, and South Dakota remains on the outside looking in as one of only seven states without a location within its borders (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, and Washington are the others).

To grab yourself something off of the Dunkin's menu, you'd need to make a road trip.

South Dakota is surrounded by 95 locations in four neighboring states, with 38 in Minnesota, 36 in Iowa, and 23 in Nebraska. Heck, even Wyoming has a Dunkin' (at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne).

The closest Dunkin' Donuts spots to Sioux Falls are the two locations in Mankato (160 miles) and the one in Council Bluffs (180 miles).
